Underwater archeologists consider, that have found out signs of the big sunk island to the southeast from Sri Lanka. They assume, that it can be the legendary disappeared earth close connected with history and culture of inhabitants of Sri Lanka.

As informs Groundviews, opening was made by a command of the Dutch and local scientists. They have carried out research on the basis of satellite maps and the analysis of samples of the soil taken from an ocean floor in this area. Preliminary data will be checked up by underwater expedition which will carry out all necessary researches in 2009−2010.
