Genetics have created a small fish from a test tube
Researchers from Japanese Fukui Prefectural University, and American NHGRI could grow up genetically changed small fish Danio albolineatus Blyth.
For the first time in the world the genetically-modified animal is received from sperm genetically changed and grown up in a test tube.
Scientists have thought up the scheme allowing unripe cells of sperm to live in a test tube long enough to receive another's gene which has been built in a retrovirus. Then cells ripen and are used for fertilization, - in a test tube.
Former technologies - microinjections of genes in eggs or an insert of genes by means of retroviruses already in developing embryos, often made so-called mosaic animals who contain another's gene far not in all cells
In the new method, each cage of an animal contains an alien gene that will allow to accelerate essentially formation of new transgene lines of animals so - and research experiments in this sphere, touching, including, development and illnesses of the person.
