To whom is known the new type of phase change of vanadium ?
With what this phenomenon is unique?

The supercompressed vanadium avoids a collapse, being deformed in rhombohedron.

It has really been found, that at a high pressure vanadium crystals change the form, but is`t compressed and do not increase density. It surprisingly also distinguishes it from all other elements.

Earlier was considered, that vanadium crystals are capable to maintain pressure in millions bar without essential changes. How it was possible to deny it? It is interesting to me, what for experiment has been carried out?

Researchers have placed vanadium crystals on a diamond substrate and have put to them the pressure making more of 600000 atmospheres. Use high-resolution X-ray the analysis has shown, that in these conditions the cubic lattice passes in rhombohedral. As have already told.
My interest is in the future because I'm going to spend the rest of my life there.

Interestingly that the primary purpose of research work consisted in attempt to analyse record superconductivity of vanadium at ultrahigh pressure. And have found out absolutely another

And it is even more interesting, that probably such researches will throw light on the reasons of the superconductivity shown by many metals at ultrahigh pressure. That is, not one vanadium can be such unique!
