EU will help Greece to struggle with crisis
The chairman of Eurocommission Jose Manuel Barroso welcomed on Monday in Athenes efforts of the Greek government on reforming of a national economy and promised the help of Greece in struggle against an economic crisis. Greece remains to one of few European Union countries who yet did not declare recession. Thus the country experiences economic difficulties: the public debt has come nearer to 100 % of gross national product, the budgeted deficit in 2008 has made 5 % of gross national product, the international rating agencies have lowered a credit rating of Greece.
"We maintain Greece in struggle against crisis by the European, co-ordinated efforts", - has told Jose Manuel Barroso to journalists after a meeting with the prime minister of Greece.
Jose Manuel Barroso welcomed the decision of the Greek government to struggle with macroeconomic problems and to carry out structural reforms in a national economy. So, Greece has undertaken to lower unacceptably high to measures of an eurozone deficiency not in 2012 as it was planned initially, and by the end of 2010 as it was demanded by the European authorities.
"Greece faces special complexities in public finances. I welcome obligations of the Greek government", - the chairman of Eurocommission has told.
Earlier in the European Union it is rumored that EU can give to some members, including Greece, the stabilisation help in the form of bilateral or multilateral credits , however officials of the European Union denied presence of such plans.
