Young researcher-pioneer Paul W.K. Rothemund. Together with colleagues on group he studies DNA and Natural Algorithms Group in the Californian institute of technology (Caltech).
According to the recent publication in magazine Nature, Rothemund names the invention "DNA-origami" ("DNA origami") and can create any two-dimensional figure from molecular chains. This Paul has already proved in practice, showing the world some "artworks".

According to researchers, for creation of each form, month of planning and some hours directly on manufacturing is required.

It is necessary to note is not Rothemund has thought up to use DNA for creation of forms. Superiority attribute to Nadrian Seeman from New York University. Other pioneer in the given area considers Erik Winfree in which group works Paul.

If DNA is used, means most likely property of self-copying of DNA is used. Probably they have created one molecule of DNA with certain sequence of elements. Then this molecule have multiplied. And have then heated up and have slowly cooled. Thus in one places where one type of elements, the molecule remained a straight line. In other places where other type of elements, the molecule was bent under a right angle. And in the third places connections with the next loops were formed. As a result, with a high probability, in the course of cooling, molecules are turned off in the set figure.

I have understood, that their method can be used only for assemblage of DNA of the definite form. That is amino acids can be a material only. This essential restriction. Not so a lot of things it is possible to make of amino acids.
